Shadow PC Lite: A Real Cloud PC Starting at €19.49/Month

Since July 23, Shadow PC Lite has been available as a new, cheaper entry tier from Shadow: the same Neo or Power hardware as before, just with a reduced usage scope (lower resolution, one monitor, fewer hours per month), and therefore starting at just €19.49/month.

The launch discount on Lite runs for a limited time until August 24. The Lite tier itself, however, remains permanently part of the lineup beyond that.

Not a Demo Mode, but a Fully-Fledged PC

First things first: Shadow PC Lite is not a scaled-down trial product for taking cloud gaming for a test drive. It’s a genuine Windows 11 PC in the cloud, real RTX graphics card included. You install Steam, Epic, or Battle.net just like on your own machine, launch your own game library, and can in principle run any Windows software you want.

The only difference from the more expensive Shadow tiers lies in what surrounds it (resolution, monitor count, usage time), not in whether you get a “real” PC.

How Shadow PC Is Structured Now

Shadow now runs on two separate axes:

• Service tier determines how much usage, resolution, and priority you get: Shadow PC Lite, Shadow PC, or Shadow PC Pro.
• Hardware configuration determines computing power: Neo (the versatile RTX configuration) or Power (more GPU power and RAM, built for 4K and demanding creative work).

So within each service tier, you choose between Neo and Power. On Lite, that specifically means Neo Lite or Power Lite. There’s no separate “Lite hardware”: a Neo Lite runs on exactly the same configuration as a Neo or Neo Pro, and a Power Lite matches Power or Power Pro the same way.

The difference between the three tiers lies entirely in the service scope around that hardware, not in the computing power itself.

Worth noting: the limits on Shadow PC and Shadow PC Pro (210 hours, 6 or 8 hour session length) are not new, they already existed before. What’s new is exclusively the lighter Lite allowance of 120 hours and 4 hour sessions. That’s also what makes the lower Lite price possible, without any savings on the hardware itself.

A few practical details from the FAQ that are useful for context:

• Once a 4 hour session ends, you can reconnect immediately; the number of sessions per day is not limited.
• Once the 120 monthly hours are used up (Shadow calls this allowance “Fair Use”), access pauses until the next billing date. So it’s a fixed hour limit, not simply throttling under heavy use. In practice, that works out to about 4 hours of usage every day of the month.
• Switching from Lite to Shadow PC is possible at any time through the account area.

Prices in Detail: Monthly vs. Yearly

The discount structure is identical across all markets: 10% off monthly billing, 25% off if paid upfront for 12 months.

The Discount Offer in Detail

For the launch, there’s a limited-time discount on Neo Lite and Power Lite running until August 24, 2026: 10% off monthly billing, 25% off for 12 months paid upfront.

The fine print: the discount only applies to new customers without an active Shadow subscription and is tied to the commitment length chosen at signup: the reduced price then stays in place permanently (“for life”) as long as you don’t cancel or switch to a different plan.

If the subscription lapses or is cancelled, you lose the discount for good, with no way to get it back.

Who Is Lite Worth It For, and Who Isn’t It For?

If you’re fine with one monitor, 1440p/60 Hz, and about 4 hours of usage per day, Lite gets you the same Neo or Power hardware as the pricier tiers, just cheaper. If you regularly run long sessions, use multiple monitors, or care about higher resolution or frame rate, you’re still better served by Shadow PC or Shadow PC Pro.

Under heavy load, Lite’s lower queue priority compared to Standard and Premium could also become noticeable; we don’t have our own experience with that yet, but we’ll follow up once we’ve tested Lite in practice.
